Instructed by Trevor Standen LLB, of RadcliffesLeBrasseur, I recently provided acoustic advice to Robert McCracken QC in a case where Westminster City Council had granted planning permission for residential property close to a restaurant and nightclub and other commercial property. The restaurant and nightclub owner was concerned that the acoustic protection offered to residents would not be sufficient to prevent them from complaining about activities at his premises, which has permission to operate until 4:00 am.
The application was subject to judicial review, and the decision to grant planning permission was quashed. After the case, Trevor Standen said, “The case is of national significance and was a truly spectacular victory.” To see a report on the case, click here.
